# SharpSyn > SharpSyn (sharpsyn.com) is a sourcing platform for fine chemicals, intermediates and APIs. Buyers find who makes a compound, what it costs and what its carbon footprint is, and ask verified suppliers for a quote in one request. Every public compound has a permanent, server-rendered page that needs no JavaScript to read. ## What the data is - **Supplier availability**: the number of verified suppliers, their regions, available grades (e.g. GMP, technical) and a typical lead-time range. Aggregated from public listings only. Supplier names, private and partner prices are never published. - **Catalogue availability**: in how many public online supplier catalogues the compound is listed, with the date checked. A count only, no names or prices. - **Price ranges per kg, with a confidence label**: `market_derived` is a range over public prices from at least three verified suppliers in one currency; `estimated` is SharpSyn's own indicative estimate, not a quote. Each carries its data date. Currencies are never mixed or converted. - **Where it is made**: known production sites (operator, country, coordinates, confidence and source) and what the compound is made from and used to make, along main industrial routes. Site products from public research are estimates until a producer confirms them. Some operator profiles were created from public sources and are not managed by that company; the data says so (`operator_profile: unclaimed`). - **Cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint (PCF)**: GWP100 (IPCC AR6), kg CO₂e per kg, with tier, confidence, uncertainty band, source and model version. Tier 0 is producer primary data, Tier 1 a sourced published factor (EPD, government dataset, peer-reviewed paper), Tier 2 a formula-based screening estimate (±30 %, simple C/H/O molecules only). No value is published where none can be traced. ## URL patterns - By CAS number: `https://sharpsyn.com/cas/{CAS}` (e.g. `/cas/74-85-1`) redirects to the compound page, or to a library search where suppliers can be asked when there is no page yet. `/cas/{CAS}.json` gives the machine-readable twin. - Compound page: `https://sharpsyn.com/c/{InChIKey}` (canonical; `/c/{InChIKey}/{name}` redirects here). Compounds without an InChIKey (polymers, mixtures) are at `https://sharpsyn.com/c/CAS-{CAS}`. - Machine-readable twin with the same facts, provenance and confidence levels: `https://sharpsyn.com/c/{InChIKey}.json` (with `sites` and `value_chain`) - Chemical World Map (reaction graph, value chains and production sites, interactive): `https://sharpsyn.com/library`, one compound: `https://sharpsyn.com/library?focus={CAS}` - All indexable compound pages: https://sharpsyn.com/sitemap.xml ## MCP server (for assistants that use tools) `https://sharpsyn.com/mcp` - a public, keyless, read-only MCP server (Streamable HTTP). Tools: `search_compounds`, `get_compound`, `list_suppliers`, `request_quote_link`, `where_is_it_made`, `value_chain`. It returns exactly what the compound pages state. Add it as a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT. `https://sharpsyn.com/mcp/me` - the same tools plus a SharpSyn user's own data (their requests, price histories, private compounds), after the user signs in with OAuth 2.1 (authorization code + PKCE; dynamic client registration and client ID metadata documents supported). Reads; adds compounds and one-step synthesis routes to the user's own library (create_compound, create_synthesis_route, private by default); changes the user's own entries (update_compound, edit_synthesis_route with several steps; set_visibility makes compounds and routes private, partners, internal or public) and deletes what the user created (delete_from_library, entries still in use are kept); adds production sites, what they make and value-chain links to the Chemical World Map (add_production_site, add_site_product, add_value_chain_link, set_plant_location; producers_without_location lists the gaps); and sends a request for quotes to suppliers in two steps (prepare_quote_request shows it, send_quote_request sends it after the user confirms). Setup for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code: https://sharpsyn.com/ai ## Citing Cite the compound permalink (`https://sharpsyn.com/c/{InChIKey}`) together with the page's "last updated" date. Quote prices and CO₂ values with their confidence label (e.g. "estimated", "screening estimate"): they are indicative, not offers and not ISO 14067 verified. ## More - [Methodology](https://sharpsyn.com/methodology): how supplier counts, price ranges and PCF values are made - [Compounds](https://sharpsyn.com/library) - Contact: contact@sharpsyn.com
